From Virgil Abloh’s Autumn/Winter 2016 collection for Off-White, this wool coat draws from workwear flannel traditions while subverting them with patchwork overlays and bold detailing. The season marked Abloh’s exploration of Americana archetypes filtered through a streetwear lens. Constructed in thick wool with contrasting panels and red accent stitching, the piece reflects Abloh’s method of elevating familiar forms into high-fashion statements.
