HISTORY

Presented for Spring/Summer 2003, this skirt was designed by Junya Watanabe as part of his ongoing exploration of hybrid garments and deconstructed utility under the Comme des Garçons umbrella. The collection examined restraint, exposure, and control through functional strapping and modular construction, translating bondage references into wearable yet confrontational runway pieces.
