HISTORY
From Jun Takahashi’s Autumn/Winter 2004 collection “But Beautiful,” these jeans belong to the designer’s celebrated period of reworking denim with an emphasis on destruction and repair. The series, often referred to as Period 68, drew on themes of imperfection and reconstitution, transforming classic five-pocket jeans into layered, textured canvases of distressing and mending. Pieces from this season embody Takahashi’s philosophy of beauty through imperfection, fusing punk sensibility with artisanal craft.
