From Autumn/Winter 2001, this varsity jacket reflects General Research’s utilitarian reinterpretation of classic Americana under Setsumasa Kobayashi. Known for blending military and workwear influences with collegiate styles, the brand introduced graphic-driven outerwear that emphasized both durability and identity. This season continued General Research’s archival approach to subcultural dress, situating the varsity jacket within its broader research-based ethos.
